New to Cali carts? This guide covers everything you need to know — from what hardware you need to how to get the best experience from your vape cartridge.

What Is a Cali Cart?

A Cali cart is a pre-filled vape cartridge containing cannabis oil or hemp extract. Most Cali carts use the 510-thread connector standard, which means they work with the vast majority of vape batteries on the market.

What Battery Do You Need?

Most Cali carts use the 510-thread standard — the most common vape battery connection in the world. Look for a variable voltage battery with settings between 2.4V and 3.6V for best results with oil cartridges. Avoid using very high voltage settings as this can burn the coil and produce a harsh taste.

Step-by-Step: Using a Cali Cart for the First Time

  1. Charge your battery fully before first use
  2. Screw the cartridge onto the 510 battery — hand-tight only, do not overtighten
  3. Prime the coil by taking a slow, gentle draw without pressing the fire button, then wait 30 seconds
  4. Set voltage to low (around 2.4–2.8V if your battery allows)
  5. Take short draws of 2 to 3 seconds and wait a moment between each one
  6. Store upright when not in use to prevent leaking

Troubleshooting Common Issues

No vapour when I inhale

Check the battery is charged and switched on (most batteries need 5 clicks to turn on). Make sure the cartridge is properly threaded. If stored in a cold place, let it warm to room temperature first.

Burnt or harsh taste

This usually means the voltage is too high or the coil has been burnt. Try lowering the voltage setting.

Oil is leaking

Always store cartridges upright with the mouthpiece facing up. Avoid leaving them in hot environments. If a cartridge has leaked, wipe the 510 connection clean before attaching to your battery.
